After securing Colombian banking licence, Revolt applies for another in Switzerland
What's happening
Revolut has secured a bank licence in Colombia from the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia, marking its sixth global banking licence and clearing the regulatory steps needed to operate as a regulated bank there. At the same time, Revolut has applied for a Swiss banking licence with FINMA and tied that bid to a committed investment of more than CHF150m as it seeks to establish a fully regulated banking entity in Switzerland. These moves sit alongside broader growth plans including consideration of a dual New York and London listing and hires to build out institutional crypto sales.
Why it's trending
Revolut is accelerating global regulated-banking footprints and capital commitments to support expansion into key markets (Colombia and Switzerland) while preparing for major corporate moves like listings and product launches.
