Portfolio management sees highest AI adoption among asset managers at 64%
What's happening
Acuity Analytics surveyed about 80 senior asset management representatives across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific and found portfolio management has the highest reported AI impact, at 64%. The survey shows other functions vary in exposure to automation and AI, with regulatory compliance at the low end (26%). The broader fintech conversation shows firms are moving from AI that suggests to AI agents that act (issuing refunds, flagging transactions, drafting responses, triggering KYC or calling internal APIs), while banks and state regulators publish new AI guidance and tools aimed at supervising AI use.
Why it's trending
Because asset managers are reporting measurable AI influence in core investing work while regulators and banks race to define how to govern increasingly active AI agents.
