FIS adds real-time Merchant data to Debit processing with Spade integration
What's happening
FIS has integrated Spade's real-time transaction enrichment technology into its debit processing platform, giving FIS debit-issuing clients access to richer, more precise merchant data at the point a transaction is processed. The integration matches debit transactions with Spade's enriched merchant profiles, which Spade says cover 99.9% of businesses across the US and Canada, and aims to reduce avoidable cardholder disputes and give customers greater clarity over transactions. FIS announced the partnership and said the capability will be available to its debit issuing clients.
Why it's trending
Banks and processors are embedding real-time enrichment to cut disputes and improve customer clarity, and this Spade integration is a concrete step by FIS to do that now.
