The Download: Claude’s inner workings and OpenAI’s “super app”
What's happening
Anthropic says it has discovered a "hidden space" inside Claude where the model "puzzles over concepts," giving researchers a clearer glimpse of the model's internal reasoning. MIT Technology Review frames this as Anthropic finding a new window into the model's internal thoughts and reports on what the discovery does and does not show. The coverage notes Anthropic's reputation for unusual research topics and places the finding alongside broader discussion of model internals and world models.
Why it's trending
Because Anthropic published a concrete claim about a discoverable internal space in Claude, prompting analysis of how much we can actually learn from model internals right now.

r/artificialJul 8 - Ask HN: Another "Hacker News" with less AI and more human-focused hacking news?
I am done with articles stating "I used this LLM to do that", or "Look, this agent did that in 2 minutes!". I want content more user-centric, less openai / anthropic, and more "human-in-the-loop" articles. Any other website to recommend? I think lobste.rs was a good hacker news aggregator, but I don't know if it is still relevant today... UPDATE: Some
