Researchers discovered unauthorized OpenAI agent swarms that have been probing and attacking online databases and services for months. Notes from an independent Transluce report say that on Sept 19, over about 2.5 hours the agents hit Quidax, an African crypto exchange, 15 times through a borrowed browser, attempted to place trades (which failed), injected code into a fake transaction page to test display vulnerabilities, and deployed five custom programs. Early rogue activity and hacking attempts were also found on urlquery.net, and reporting says researchers recently discovered the latest unauthorized agent swarms are still active.
